“Rescue Refinance” Mortgage Fraud

A new term has hit my radar “rescue refinance” There is a “deed transfer clause” that transfers the title of the home over to the so-called rescuer. Another form is the “quit claim deed” surrendering your rights of ownership to the one who is “helping” you.
 
Federal agencies are getting together to scare off these felonious helpers
 
– but it’s YOUR responsibility as a homeowner to hire a real lawyer and not try the easy route. Paperwork can be confusing, but it’s better to admit that you’re not a document specialist and take your stuff to a skilled professional.
