Damaging House Before Foreclosure Could Be Felony

Posted on March 23, 2011

The Nevada legislature has introduced a bill that will make it a felony to damage your home. This bill is aimed at people forced to leave it through foreclosure.

In spite, homeowners have been destroying the property the bank is about to foreclose on to ruin it’s value. It also ruins the neighborhood.

The solution, as the Nevada legislature sees it, is to make that a felony. It might work. But of course the bank and the state will have to prove it was the homeowners and not vandals. Might not be that easy, give how long these houses can stay vacant.
