ACLU Attacks Florida Foreclosure Courts

Posted on April 7, 2011

Florida established special courts for foreclosure cases because the backlog of cases was so big. Nicknamed “rocket dockets” because of their quick dispensation of foreclosure cases, these courts were set up to clear the backlog of foreclosure cases before the courts.

In the process, homeowners have had some of their consumer protections taken away, says the ACLU. As a result, they have asked the Florida appeals court to review the rocket docket procedures.

The ACLU has some of the best attorneys in the country working for them. They wouldn’t attack this issue without immense amounts of preparation and a decent chance at success.
