Washington State Finds Problems with Mortgage Trustees

A Washington state investigation showed that a state rule requiring mortgage trustees to maintain an office in the state was being roundly ignored.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports “An investigation by the Washington State Attorney General’s Office shows that some of the largest trustees aren’t following the law, and borrowers who have a legitimate reason to stop a foreclosure are having trouble reaching trustees.”

What a shame that these problems are only being dealt with years after many people have lost their homes. See full article here.
